Common questions about exterior painting

When is the best time to paint an exterior in the Bay Area?

April through October is ideal. Dry weather, moderate temperatures, and low humidity produce the best paint cure and adhesion. We work year-round but schedule around weather when possible.

How long does exterior painting take?

Most single-family home exteriors take 5 to 10 working days. Larger homes or projects requiring significant wood repair can run 2 to 3 weeks. Weather can extend timelines.

What paint do you use for exteriors?

Benjamin Moore Aura Exterior is our default for most projects. For stucco we use elastomeric coatings from Benjamin Moore or comparable professional-grade products. Product selection is documented in your proposal.

Do you repair wood rot before painting?

Yes. Wood rot repair is quoted separately since scope varies widely. We identify all wood damage during the estimate and specify repair costs before work begins.

How long will my exterior paint last?

Properly prepped and painted exteriors in the Bay Area typically hold up 7 to 10 years for wood siding and 10 to 15 years for stucco. Timeline depends on sun exposure, paint product used, and initial prep quality.
