Every project comes with a written warranty

Written into every proposal

When you receive your written proposal from us, the warranty terms specific to your project are included in that document. Interior workmanship warranties typically run one to two years. Exterior workmanship warranties typically run two to five years depending on the surfaces, paint products, and prep scope.

What is covered

Our workmanship warranty covers paint failures that result from our work: peeling, blistering, bubbling, or premature failure caused by inadequate prep or application. If any of these occur during your warranty period, we return to correct the issue at no cost to you.

What is not covered

• Normal wear and tear from daily use
• Damage caused by moisture intrusion, plumbing leaks, or roof failures
• Damage caused by structural movement or settling
• Damage from unauthorized cleaning products or aggressive scrubbing
• Fading or color change caused by extended UV exposure beyond product ratings
• Any surface not painted by Painting By Ken
• Damage from remodeling or construction work performed by others

Manufacturer warranties

Paint products carry separate manufacturer warranties from Benjamin Moore and other manufacturers we use. Those warranties cover paint product defects. Our workmanship warranty covers our application of those products. Both apply to your project.

How to request warranty service

Call us at the number in your proposal, or use the contact form on this site. We will schedule a visit to assess the issue. If the issue falls under warranty, we schedule the correction at your convenience. No charge for warranty work.

Why we can offer this

We can offer a written warranty because our process makes call-backs rare. Proper prep, quality materials, and complete documentation before we start are what allow us to stand behind the finished result. A painter who cannot offer a written warranty is telling you something about their process.
